Adirondack Children's Troupe (ACT) was founded in 1979 to
provide a top quality theater experience for school-aged children.
ACT presents three productions per year cast with students in grades 4-12.
Fall is cast with students in grades 8-12, Spring with grades 4-7, and
Summer with grades 4-12. Anyone may participate by registering for the appropriate aged production. ACT
believes in a non-audition program, and students are registered on a first-come,
first serve basis. Productions are then cast from those registered, giving
children of all abilities an opportunity to participate in live theater.
ACT's theater experience helps children
- develop communications skills and self-awareness through creative thinking and group dynamics
- develop self-esteem and confidence, which is critical in molding young lives
- learn that every job involved in theater is important to what the audience sees and experiences
